Two at large

In April 2011, the sheriff’s offices in Beaufort and Pitt counties received reports of larceny of copper from two Voice of America sites, one in each county. According to a statement from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, a joint investigation conducted by the two agencies resulted in Investigator Wesley Waters applying for, and receiving, warrants Jan. 23 charging four eastern North Carolina residents with the theft of copper wiring on the VOA towers.
On Jan. 23, April Loretta Auberg, 40, of Chatham Way, Greenville, was served the warrant by the Craven County Sheriff’s Office, where she was already in custody in the county’s detention center. Auberg is charged with two counts of obtaining property by false pretenses and one count of felony larceny and was held on additional $1,500 secured bond.
Thomas Gregory Long, 32, of Chatham Way, Greenville, was charged with two counts of felony larceny. On Jan. 25, the Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office served the warrant in the county’s detention center where he was already in custody. Long was held on an additional $5,000 secured bond.
Carol Yevette Price, 29, of Green Springs Road, New Bern, charged with one count of felony larceny; and Richard Kevin Price, 35, also of Green Springs Road, New Bern, charged with two counts of felony larceny, are still at large.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, 252-946-7111, is seeking information on the whereabouts of Carol Price and Richard Price. Beaufort County Crime Stoppers, 252-974-6400, will pay up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to their arrests. Callers do not have to give their names to receive rewards.
