Find out how to keep your heart healthy at four Lunch and Learn events offered by the Beaufort County Health Department in celebration of Heart Health Month during February and March.
Each 45-minute class will feature a presentation by Ashley Miller and JaNell Brockett on a topic that will help participants keep their hearts healthy followed by 10 minutes of physical activity.
The first class will be 12:30 p.m. until 1:15 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the conference room at the health department at 1436 Highland Drive in Washington. Subsequent Lunch and Learn classes will be offered each Tuesday from Feb. 28 to March 13.
Those who are interested in attending should visit the health department from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. before Feb. 14 to obtain an enrollment kit. These kits will include a pedometer, walking log and several promotional items. Participants can also receive a free blood pressure check 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, or Wednesday, Feb. 15.
