MANASSAS, Va. — Mr. Paul Dalton Parker Jr., 71, of Manassas, Va., died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Centreville, Va. Burial will follow in Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, Va.
Mr. Parker was born in Cypress Chapel, Va., on March 14, 1935. He was the son of the late Paul and Annie Louise Parker. He graduated from Chuckatuck High School in 1952 and received a bachelor’s degree in English from Elon College in 1956. He served in the Army from 1957-1959. He was a high school teacher and guidance counselor with Prince William County Schools from 1956-57 and from 1959-1995. He was married to Marian “Susie” Parker, who preceded him in death. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he held several church positions including Bishop, Stake Patriarch and ordinance worker at the Washington, D.C., temple.
Survivors include two sons, Paul O. Parker of Manassas, Va., and Steven G. Parker of Leesburg, Va.; one daughter, Pamela Chamberlain of McKinney, Texas; three sisters, Marion Cartwright of Washington, Carol Sue Baden of Virginia Beach, Va., and Rebecca Swecker of Rocky Mount, Va.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Lou Wright.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Pierce-Price Funeral Home, Manassas, Va.
