Mrs. Elizabeth Callaway Birdsong, age 92, a resident of 111 Fairway Drive, Washington, died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at her home.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, conducted by Dr. Skipper McLawhorn.
Mrs. Birdsong was born in Delmar, MD on February 19, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Harry Edward Callaway and Dora Truitt Callaway. Mrs. Birdsong was a homemaker. She was a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. Mrs. Birdsong was a member of Proctor Memorial Christian Church in Grimesland.
Mrs. Birdsong married Lee D. Birdsong, Jr. on May 15, 1948 who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Birdsong is survived by her son, Dr. Edward Birdsong of Washington; two grandsons, Christopher L. Birdsong and Peter J. Birdsong both of Washington; and brother in law, Phil Birdsong of Sarasota, FL.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Birdsong was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Callaway and William Callaway.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Mrs. Birdsong’s home, 111 Fairway Drive, Washington.
