Mr. James “Jimmy” Leslie Everson, Jr., age 71, a resident of 3514 Terrapin Track Road, Washington, NC died Wednesday April 14, 2010 at his home.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday April 16, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington officiated by Fred Wilson and Mike Caton. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Alger Gray Woolard, Horace Waters, Sam Evett, Jr., Michael Boswell, Wayne Jackson and Allen Peele will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Everson was born in Beaufort County on July 26, 1938 son of the late James L. Everson and the late Marshall Waters Everson. He attended Beaufort County Schools and married the former Juanita Cahoon on October 30, 1960 who survives. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Everson was a retired maintenance supervisor with the Washington City Schools. He was a member of Rosemary Church of Christ.
Surviving along with Mr. Everson’s wife Juanita of the home are two sisters: Virginia Evett and Helen Wolfe both of Wilson. He was preceded in death by a son: James L. Everson, III on September 25, 2000 and a brother: John Henry Everson.
The family will receive friends at the home located at 3514 Terrapin Track Road, Washington, NC.
