Mr. Irvin Garland Gallop, 63, of 113 Kim’s Loop Rd., Plymouth died Apr. 28, 2010, in Riverside Regional Medical, Newport News, Va.
A funeral will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Second Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Hubert Judon officiating. Burial will follow in Small Family cemetery.
Mr. Gallop was born on Dec. 7, 1946 in Norfolk, VA. He was the son of Mable Small and the late Grandy Gallop. He was a member of Second Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Colorado State and an electrician with Weyerhaeuser. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and recipient of numerous medals including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Lacy Gallop of the home; three sons: Marvin Clark, Plymouth; Irvin Gallop, Jr., Jamesville; Tyrone Lacy, Raleigh; three daughters: Trina Daniels, Chesapeake, VA.; Shana Gill, Greensboro; Ebony Lacy, Knightdale; mother: Mable Wooten, Norfolk, VA.; brother, Dallas Gallop, Plymouth and nine grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Second Zion Grove Baptist Church and other times at the home.
