Mrs. Ruth Alexander Miller Carpenter, 78, a resident of Merry Hill, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Plymouth, with the Rev. Jimmy Hagwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillside Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the church and other times at the home. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
