Sebastian Jones (second from right) was honored by the Major Reading Blount Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) as recipient of the Good Citizen Award. The 18-year-old senior from Beaufort County Early College High School was recognized for his essay on good citizenship, which was submitted for the DAR’s statewide Good Citizens contest. The DAR’s Good Citizens contest is intended to encourage students to learn about patriotism and their democratic heritage.
