The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit said in a released statement that Jermaine Devonne Moore, 37, of 1205 E. Firetower Road, Greenville, and Geri Lyn Craig, 54, of 55 New St., Edward, were arrested on drug charges Feb. 22.

Prior to the arrests, investigators set up controlled purchases of crack-cocaine from Moore after learning Moore was living in Greenville but travelling to the Edward and Aurora area to sell drugs.

According to the press release, investigators conducting surveillance witnessed Moore riding as a passenger in a vehicle driven by Geri Craig. A traffic stop was made and K-9 Elza, the sheriff’s office drug detection K-9, alerted on two pill bottles in the floorboard of the car. Fifty-nine dosage units of crack-cocaine were found in the bottles, prepackaged for resale, as well as 4 dosage units of Suboxone, a schedule III controlled substance.

“It was 17 grams total,” said a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit. “As far as crack goes, it can be broken down into $10, $20, $40 increments. It’s common to find drug dealers have prepackaged units for sale.”

Moore was charged with three counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule III controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Craig was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule III controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both Moore and Craig were held at the Beaufort County Detention Center — Craig, under a $10,000 secured bond; and Moore, who was out on bond for an Aug. 8, 2011, arrest in which he was charged with driving while impaired and possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, was held under a $31,000 secured bond.
