Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

Thank you so much for the Brown Street bridge. It makes getting to the hospital, the doctor’s office and the drug store so much safer from the south side of town, the eastern part of town and River Road.

I certainly enjoyed the articles about softball at Washington High School. I’ve enjoyed reading all the articles about the basketball playoffs. I must have missed the article about the girls’ varsity soccer team that won its first game this past Monday night. Could you please let me know when that article appeared because I would really like to read it.

Walter Williams’ column in Sunday’s paper about excellence in math being the result of hard work was right on target and I intended to clip it to keep. Unfortunately, when I cut out Frugal Living on the other side of the page, the columns were different widths and I ruined Williams’ piece. Is there anywhere we can go online to get a printable version of WDN columns?
Editor’s note: Syndicated columns are not available online at www.thewashingtondailynews.com. A back copy of Sunday’s paper may be purchased for $1 at the Washington Daily News office, 217 N. Market St., Washington.

For the Sound Off submission in Thursday’s paper: Look, you like Diana West. I like Gene Lyons. For civility, let’s call it even.
