Mrs. Pearl Virginia Oneal Davis, 95, of 1028 Old Hwy. 264 E., Scranton, N.C., peacefully went home to her heavenly father, Saturday, June 19, 2010.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Mount Pilgrim Church of Christ, Disciples, Scranton, N.C., with Vice Bishop Charles Butler pastor, presiding and Evangelist, Dennis Davis, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the Davis family cemetery, Scranton.
Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Eugene and Rittie Fulford Oneal-Swanson. She was born on December 31, 1914 in Hyde Co. Mrs. Pearl attended the public school in Hyde Co. She was a lifelong member of Mount Pilgrim Church of Christ, Disciple.
Her employment included the Minor Nursing Home, Roxbury, Mass., as well as with various local families as a Housekeeper. However; her life long pleasure was that of homemaker for her husband, and her children along with their families.
On December 23, 1933, she married Edward Larry Davis, who preceded her in death, also preceding were three sons, John Davis, Fred Davis and Willie Davis.
Survivors are five daughters, Della D. Doughlin, Ella Babbitt, Mary Coates, Lovie Miller and Pearlie Dupree. Five sons, Frank Davis, James C. Davis, James L. Davis, Victor T. Davis, Herbert Davis. A daughter-in-law, Gretchen Davis. 31 grandchildren, 52 Great Grands and 4 Great Great Grands.
The family is receiving friends at the home.
