Mrs. Doris Sawyer Blake passed away at the age of 77 on June 26 at the Beaufort County Medical Center.
A private memorial service for the immediate family members will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Blake was the daughter of the late Leo and Erma Sawyer of Scranton, NC. She was sister of a brother, PFC Donald S. Sawyer, who was killed in the Republic of South Vietnam in 1969 and was awarded the Bronze Star with Combat V for Valor and the Purple Heart.
Survivors include a son: Bryan Kent Blake and his wife of 31 years, Gail; a grandson: Jason Corey Blake, who resides at her former home in Ponzer with her blessings and wishes and one sister: Grace Moore of Jacksonville, FL.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Blake's son Bryan located at 4849 Loop Road, Scranton, NC.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Eunice Chapel Church of Christ, 895 Beulah Road, Scranton, NC 27875.
