Employees may learn to improve their supervising skills at a seminar, The Super Supervisor, sponsored by Beaufort County Community College’s Business and Industry Services.
The seminar will be conducted from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday at the headquarters of Tideland Electric Membership Corp., 25831 U.S. Highway 264 East, Pantego. The instructor is Pam Pippin, a certified senior human-resources professional who has served in business leadership for more than 20 years and other years with P-Inc.
Participants will learn coaching techniques that will improve their listening and problem-solving skills, interview techniques that will help supervisors choose the right employees for their team, goal-setting techniques and the ins and outs of employer laws and regulations.
Attendance is free for all of these seminars, but preregistration is recommended to reserve seating and to allow the college to adequately prepare materials.
To register, contact BCCC’s Business and Industry Services at 940-6375 or email Eva Peartree at evap@beaufortccc.edu.
The workshops are co-sponsored by the Washington-Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce and hosted by Tideland EMC.
