Notary-public class offered

BCCC’s Division of Continuing Education will offer a class that will prepare participants to apply for notary-public commissions in North Carolina.

The course will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 20-21 in the auditorium of Building 8 on the BCCC campus. The registration fee is $65, and the required textbook is $27, tax included. The textbook is available for purchase from the BCCC bookstore before the first night of class.

Various topics related to the duties of a notary public will be covered. Individuals should review the qualifications for those serving as notaries at www.secretary.state.nc.us/notary.

The course offers 0.6 continuing-education units. Students will be required to show a state-issued photo identification and their Social Security cards at the first night of class.

The instructor for the course is Jennifer Whitehurst, Beaufort County’s register of deeds.
