Ruth Ann Agee was 70 years old and lived in Bath, NC. Her valiant ten year battle against the complications of Multiple Systems Atrophy ended at 10 p.m. on August 3, 2010 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC. 
Ruth Ann Johnson was born on November 5, 1939 in Delta, Ohio. She was one of 7 children born to Harry and Lucille Johnson, along with sisters Margaret, Janet and Celia and brothers Roger, Jim and Ken. She graduated from Bowling Green High School and Bowling Green State University, where she met the love of her life, Robert Agee. They were married on January 28, 1961. They have four children, David, Karen, Annette and Brian. Robert was a general surgeon in the army before establishing his private practice, so the family lived many places: Columbus, OH, Honolulu, HA, Monterrey, CA, San Francisco, CA , San Antonio, TX, Fort Knox, KY, Galion, OH, Fremont, OH, Williamston, NC, and then Bath, NC.
Ruth was a beloved wife and mother, elementary school teacher, swim referee, and school board member. She also coached the Williamston High School tennis team. She was a proud member of BGSU Chi Omega sorority, accomplished tennis player, avid wine and food connoisseur, and involved member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
Miss Ruth is survived by her devoted husband and best friend Dr. Robert Agee, a son David and his wife Susan from Medina, OH, daughter Karen and her husband Shawn Lipman from Calabasas, CA, daughter Annette and her husband Jim Alling from Seattle, WA and son Brian and his wife Shannon from Asheville, NC. Ruth has 11 grandchildren. 
A celebration of life service will be at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath, NC on Saturday August 7, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. There will be a reception afterwards at the Agee home, 110 Teach’s Cove, NC. A memorial service will be held in Ohio on a date still to be determined.
