Clarence W. Alexander, Jr. 79, of 101 Darby Circle, Plymouth died Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at Vintage Inn, Williamston, NC. He was born June 17, 1931, in Plymouth, NC to the late Pollie Norfleet and Clarence W. Alexander, Sr. He was predeceased by his first wife: Lola Carter; his sons: Eric Alexander and Mark Alexander; and sisters: Annie Modlin; Tiny Nobles and Clara Nobles. He was a retired millwright supervisor with Weyerhaueser; a Korean War Veteran; a member of American Legion Post 40; and a member of First Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 27, at First Christian Church with Rev. Tom Banks officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years: Billie Hardison Alexander of the home; daughters: Vickie A. Andersen and husband, Karl of Greenville; Bonnie A. Ambrose and husband, David of Edenton; brother: David Alexander and wife, Gladys of Plymouth; and two grandchildren: Megan Elizabeth Alexander and Jensen Kristina Andersen.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 26, at Walker Funeral Home – Horner Chapel.
