Chocowinity – Mr. Jesse G. Dudley, 78, died Friday, August 27, 2010.
The funeral service will be conducted on Monday at 11:30 am in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel in Vanceboro. Burial will follow in Chapman’s United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Dudley, a native of Craven County, had lived in Newport News, Virginia for a number of years, moving back to Craven County in 2001. He was a graduate of Farmlife High School. He was employed with the city of Newport News Fire Department for 29 years retiring in 1986.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois T. Dudley; sons, Steve Dudley and wife, Cathy, of Hampton, VA, Jesse G. Dudley Jr. of Newport News, VA and Alan Dudley and wife, Beth, of Chocowinity, NC; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; special niece and nephew and great niece; sisters, Beatrice Lewis of Vanceboro and Giva Mayo of New Bern; brother, Lester Dudley of Durham.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:30 am on Monday at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Vanceboro.
