Knights rally to take down Panthers|Score 28 second-half points in win

Down 12-0 at the half, Riverside rallied with 28 second-half points to top previously unbeaten North Pitt 28-12 on Friday.
Knights’ quarterback Luke Mathews threw for three touchdowns as he hit running back Quinton Lawrence scored on a 54-yard screen pass, then connected with Tre Rodgers for a 58-yard TD pass. Mathews also hooked up with tight end Everette Paschal for a 14-yard score.
Ashton Armstrong scored the fourth touchdown when he intercepted a North Pitt (4-1, 2-A Eastern Plains) pass and ran 20 yards for a touchdown. The win gives Riverside a 4-0 record and a share of first place in the Four Rivers Conference with Southside (4-0) and Plymouth. The Knights will be back in action next Friday when it begins conference play at home against Manteo.
Panthers 40, South Creek 33
Northside won a wild contest over South Creek 40-33 on Friday as the team Four Rivers Conference teams clashed in a non-conference match.
Taekwan Mackey paced the Panthers as he scored on a touchdown run and a 65-yard kickoff return while throwing two TD passes to Tony Peele. Running back DeMarquez Martin scored two rushing TDs for Northside as well to help the team improve its record to 2-2 as it heads into its next game on the road Friday against Plymouth.
The loss lowers South Creek’s record to 0-4. The Cougars will be back in action at home next week against Perquimans.
