Mr. Charlie Lee, 82, of 1806 West Bear Grass Road, Williamston, NC, died Sept. 12, 2010, at Britthaven of Washington.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sat. Sept. 18, 2010, Smithwick Chapel Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, Williamston, NC, with Elder Thurman Hankies officiating.
Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington, NC.
Charlie was the son of the late Willie and Annie Spruill Lee. He was born in Martin County on April 5, 1928. He was a member of the David’s Chapel Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, Church. He was retired having worked as a mechanic with the Dixie Motor Company.
He was married to Sue Bell Stokes-Lee who survives. Mr. Lee was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
Surviving along with his wife are four daughters, Joanna Pippen (William Sr.) Williamston, NC; Brenda Williams (Mario); Glenda Edmondson (William, Sr.); Teresa Sherrod (Dennis) all of Washington, NC. A son Willie Stokes, Bronx, NY; a granddaughter, Rachel Mitchell, raised as a daughter. Several grandchildren, great grand’s and great great grand’s, a brother William Lee (Lear) Williamston, NC, also nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the chapel of the Randolph Funeral Home, 219 Bonner St., Washington, NC.
The Randolph Funeral Home is serving the family.
