Mr. Michael Wayne Godley, age 54, a resident of 818 Grimes Rd. Washington, died Saturday, September 18, 2010.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Second Baptist Church and will be conducted by Rev. Scott Setzer and Dr. Phil Hayes. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Godley was born in Beaufort County on July 4, 1956 to the late Nathan Brooks Godley and Joyce Boyd Godley who survives. He was a 1974 graduate of Washington High School and was a retired carpenter. On March 10, 2000 he married Lesa Kroeker who survives. He was a member of Second Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, Bible study teacher and was a great faith leader. He was very faithful and loved the Lord. He was a UNC basketball fan, was a huge fan of Disney World making numerous trips there over the years. Mr. Godley was a fantastic father that loved his children and step children very dearly.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Lesa Godley; his mother, Joyce Boyd Godley of Washington; two sons, Michael Ryan Godley of Washington, Justin Brooks Godley of Greenville; three step children, Greg Dean Little, Jeremy Adam Reason and Sarah Ashley Reason all of New Bern and one brother, Nathan Brooks Godley, Jr. of Ft. Meyers, Florida.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
