Ms. Billie Gray Tankard, age 61, a resident of 410 Craven St., Bath, died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Wake Medical Center of Raleigh.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens and will be conducted by Rev. Curtis White.
Ms. Tankard was born in Beaufort County on November 15, 1948 to the late William and Erma Wallace Tankard. She was a 1967 graduate of Bath High School, an accountant for twelve years with Pepsi in Florida, managed Smalls Bookstore, was employed and volunteered with the Red Cross where she taught disaster relief and first aid, she served as a Girl Scout leader and was a member of Bath Christian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Carroll and husband Greg of Smithfield; one grandson, Scott Carroll; one sister, Barbara Jones and husband Frank of Fuquay-Varina, NC; two nieces, Beth Barnes of Valrico, Florida, Donna Combs of Willow Spring, NC and two nephews, Wayne Jones and wife Rae of Willow Spring and Blaine Worth-Jones and wife Becky of Abingdon, Virginia.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Bath Christian Church.
