Push to end polio

Rocky Jacobs, a Rotary Foundation End Polio Now coordinator for the foundation’s polio-eradication program, addresses the Washington (noon) Rotary regarding efforts to eliminate polio worldwide. Since 1985, the number of polio cases has been reduced by 99 percent. Last year, 700 cases were reported worldwide, originating from only three countries. Jacobs, recipient of the Rotary International Foundation’s Citation for Meritorious Service and Distinguished Service Award, lives outside Belhaven.
