Esther M. Johnson, age 85, a resident of 205 Thomas Place, Washington, NC died on September 19, 2010 at Beaufort County Medical Center. A graveside service will be held on October 27, 2010 at 3 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. Mrs. Johnson will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Frank.
Mrs. Johnson was born on July 8, 1925 in Birmingham, AL, daughter of the late George Lawrence Morris and Nettie Lee Rothenburg Morris. She married Francis “Frank” Wilson Johnson on May 20, 1945, who preceded her in death on August 8, 2009. Mrs. Johnson attended Sullins College in Roanoke, VA and Huntington College in Montgomery, AL. She was a past member of St. Peters Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Esther M. Johnson is survived by her son, Lee Johnson of Washington D.C. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Johnson, in 1969.
