It is a shameful thing when one cannot put flowers on a loved one’s grave at Oakdale Cemetery. My mother put a $50 flower on her husband’s grave a week ago, and it is already gone. It doesn’t matter that it was $50. What matters is that someone stole it. That’s a very shameful thing.
I think I have the solution to the rampant metal thievery in Beaufort County. If you are a felon, you have not only lost the right to vote, but you’ve also lost your right to take metal back to the metal-recycling facilities around Beaufort County and Pitt County, which I think would reduce the metal thievery in eastern North Carolina. However, thinking about it, it would probably make the recycling centers go out of business.
The Sunday front page was garbage, pure and simple, garbage. I don’t give a darn about the “Alliance continues Easter tradition” or “Wright Flight takes off.” I don’t care; it’s garbage. There was a murder, triple murder, I believe — front page of the Daily Reflector. You don’t have a Monday paper, but you have plenty of time to get that on your front page for Tuesday. We’re talking about possibly three people murdered in Pitt County. That is what you lead with in your Tuesday paper — big and bold. — the murders in Pitt County. The only reporters you’ve got, put them on that. Focus on that.
