Mary Clyde Modlin Hardison of Columbia passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2010.
Mary Clyde was born in Jamesville, N.C., July 2, 1916. A graduate of Jamesville High School, she served as librarian at the Bear Grass School for two years, followed by 22 years as a librarian in Tyrrell County Schools. Mrs. Hardison was a member of Columbia Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and treasurer of Christian Women’s Fellowship.
Mrs. Hardison was preceded in death by her husband, John and son, Ashley and a sister, Faye Modlin Schorb.
She is survived by a brother, James (Buster) Modlin and wife, Ina Faye and half-brother, Billy Modlin, all of Jamesville.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at The Columbia Christian Church. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Jamesville Cemetery.
