James Roy “Friday” Crisp

Mr. James Roy Crisp, Sr., age 81, known to many who loved him as “Friday,” of 1463 Gerard Lane, Blounts Creek, NC, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at his youngest son’s home.
Mr. Crisp was born in Beaufort county on March 31, 1925. He was the son of the late Thomas and Carrie Brown Crisp. Mr. Crisp was a dedicated husband and father, married 56 years to Ethel Colville Crisp, who survives. He was a retired service technician for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of Kinston and retired employee of Washington Wal-Mart. Mr. Crisp was a faithful member of The Church of God of Prophecy in Washington, NC. Mr. Crisp loved fishing, crabbing, woodworking and gardening. He was loved by many and will be truly missed by all.
Survivors include two sons, James Roy Crisp, Jr. and Richard Glenn Crisp of Washington; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Bobby Gene Crisp of Blounts Creek; and three sisters, Mildred Lawrence of Greenville, Anne Hoell of Otto, NC and Arlene Crisp of Greenville.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Crisp was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Ferbee Crisp and William Berlie Crisp of Beaufort county.
The family will announce visitation and funeral arrangements at a later date.
