Mrs. Pamela Legon Gibbs Blount, age 55, a resident of 114 David Circle died Sunday October 3, 2010.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday October 9, 2010 at Bethel Chapel Ministries on Van Norden Street, Washington, NC, with Pastor Stephen Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Blount was born in Beaufort County on October 7, 1954 to the late Clem and Mary Sidney Gibbs. She was a 1972 graduate of Washington High School and was employed with Hamilton Beach Inc. for twenty five years until her health began to decline.
Mrs. Blount married Rufus Earl Blount on October 5, 1975.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Blount is survived by one son, Lamont Little; two grandchildren, Joshua Norrell and Madison Little; three brothers, George Gibbs Sr. (Dorothy), Johnny Gibbs Sr. (Janice) and Ronald Gibbs Sr. (Marie); one sister, Devonne Gibbs Thompson (David) all of Washington, NC; father-in-law, Rufus Elijah Blount; three brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; one aunt, Carolyn Jones of Greenville, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one brother, Clemment Miller Gibbs; two sisters, Sadie Jane Gibbs and Mary Gibbs Taylor; two aunts, Margaret Jones and Joyce Moseley.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
