In a continuation of charges that started with a March arrest, Brooke Danielle Jones, 23, of Goose Creek Road, Washington, was arrested for forgery on March 30.
According to Major Kenneth Watson of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, Jones used checks stolen from a family member’s residence where she was staying to go on a Wal-Mart shopping spree.
Jones bought $124 worth of lingerie, a couple of DVDs, and received $20 cash back during the transaction, video of which was recovered from the store.
Investigator Jim Adams obtained warrants charging Jones with one count of forgery of endorsement, one count of uttering a forged endorsement, and one count of obtaining property by false pretense. She was released on a $1,500 unsecured bond.
On March 8, Jones was arrested for felony breaking and entering, larceny, and financial card theft and fraud.
