Rebecca Charlotte Craig, age 85, formerly of Chocowinity went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2010 in Yuma, Arizona where she resided with several of her children.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday October 28, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home in Washington officiated by Rev. Laurel Craig and Rev. Glenn Nichols. A committal service will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Craig was born June 4, 1925 to the late George and Ada Newell. She graduated Crosby High School in Waterbury, Connecticut. In April of 1946 she married the late Chester Leslie Craig.
She is survived by her 10 children: Steve and Joan Dowd of New York, Lawrence Craig of Arizona, Chester II and Susan Craig of Alabama, George and Sharon Craig of North Carolina, Sandra Craig of New York, Laurel and Ruth Craig of North Carolina, Jeff and Terri Gilbert of New York, Linda Craig of Arizona, Patricia Craig of Arizona and Daniel Craig of Arizona; 14 grandchildren: Elizabeth Beaury, Amy Quinn, Jennifer Parsons, Deirdre Stone, Chester Craig III, Gerald Craig, Thomas Craig, Rachel Guerriero, Jack DeBoer, Erin Craig, Alexandria Gilbert, Jordan Gilbert, Trevor Gilbert and Claire Gilbert; 24 great-grandchildren and many special adopted family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her grandson, Isaac Craig.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Thursday October 28, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home.
