Mrs. Mavis H. Lamm

Mrs. Mavis Halloman Lamm, age 80, a resident of Daytona Beach, Fla., and formerly of Washington, NC, died Friday October 29, 2010 at a Florida Memorial Hospice Center.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home in Washington officiated by Bryan Lamm. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Don Lamm, Michael Lamm, Steven Lamm, Kyle Lamm, Josh Edwards and James Coggins will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Lamm was born in Pitt County on August 31, 1930, daughter of the late Oscar Halloman, Sr. and Adele Halloman. On September 17, 1949, she married David Lamm who survives. She devoted her life to being a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, David of the home, she is survived by her children: Mickey Lamm, Ellen Butts, David Lamm, Jr., Donnie Lamm, Sr. and Terrie Lamm Fuehrer; her brothers: Oscar Halloman, Linwood Halloman and Howard Halloman; her sisters: Helen McCoy and Faye Fulford; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Vera Chase.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10 a.m. Wednesday until the funeral hour at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at the home of Stan and Alma Friedman located at 401 Moss Way, Moss Landing, Washington, NC.
It was the wishes of Mrs. Lamm that flowers not be sent but contributions in her memory be made to Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, 200 South Park Road, Suite 100, Hollywood, FL, 33021 or International Dementia Research Foundation, P.O. Box 12204, Research Triangle Park, NC, 27709.
