On this day, we Celebrate the Life of Mr. John "Johnny" Wade Rice, age 57, a resident of 5458 US Hwy. 17 S., Chocowinity, who died Thursday, November 25, 2010.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2010 at the Cutler Family Cemetery in Bath and will be conducted by Ward Sullivan. Jeremy Hughes, Michael Harding, Kevin Towns, Mike Holland, Byron Weber and Paul Weber will serve as pallbearers. Charles Edward Rice, Gordon Hicks, Anthony Rhodes and Randy Keel will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Rice was born in Beaufort County on August 8, 1953 to the late Cecil and Bertha Chrismon Rice. On August 12, 1978 he married the Love of his Life, Marie Rhodes. He served in the United States Army and worked as a carpenter in construction.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Rhodes Rice; one daughter, Codie Marie Rice of Rocky Mount; two sons, Joseph Walter Rice of Chocowinity, Joshua Wade Rice and wife Crystal of Greenville, their child, his one grandson, Jacob Walker Rice and one brother, Charles Evans Rice of Chocowinity.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington.
