Mrs. Sallie Hill Brooks, age 91, a resident of 408 Alderson Road, Washington, and long time resident of Bath, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 at Autumnfield of Belhaven.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Father Eric Zubler. The family will receive friends following the services at the grave site.

Mrs. Brooks was born in Beaufort County on Dec. 3, 1918, the daughter of the late James Fred Hill and Lula Cozzens Hill. She married Joseph Bryan Brooks on Oct. 4, 1941 who preceded her in death in January 1989. Sallie was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath, NC. She enjoyed arranging flowers, weddings and living in Bath.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by a son, James Bryan Brooks and wife, Jean, of Blowing Rock, NC; a daughter, Vicky Brooks Blake of Washington; Grandchildren Chris Brooks and wife, Mary, of Valdese, NC; Michele Miller and husband, Rick, of Raleigh, NC; Will Blake of Washington, NC; Matt Blake and wife, Noboko Igarashi, of Memphis, TN; Herb Blake of Greenville, NC. and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, J. Fred Hill and Arthur Hill and son-in-law, Andy Blake.
