Robert “Bobby” Griffin Sr., a resident of 2652 Keymore Drive, Richburg, S.C., and formerly of Washington, died Friday, April 27, 2012, at Orangeburg Regional Medical Center.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Davenport Temple COGIC. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Robert was born Nov. 30, 1969 to Elder Frank and Evangelist Queenie Edwards Griffin in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a 1988 Washington High School graduate; attended Beaufort County Community College and Raleigh School of Trucking Driving. He was a member of Sutton Tabernacle and Press Your Way Church during his youth. He was employed with R.S. Trucking Center in South Carolina.
He is survived by two sons, Robert and Desmond Griffin of Washington; one daughter, Staneshia Griffin of Washington; one foster daughter, Leanna Higgs of Raleigh; one sister, Rachel O’Pharrow and two brothers, Jerome and James Griffin, all of Greenville. His siblings Jeffery and Yvette preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home with wake services from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., and other times at the home of his parents at 161 Vermont Ave., Washington.
