Mr. Malcolm Reintzel, 88, died Friday, March 16, 2007 at Cypress Glen Retirement Community.
A memorial service will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m. in the Brown Chapel at Cypress Glen. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Reintzel was a native of Washington, D.C., where he lived for many years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland and was employed by the Internal Revenue Service until his retirement. Since the end of 2005, he has been a resident of Cypress Glen Retirement Community.
Mr. Reintzel served as an elder, deacon and treasurer in his community churches. He enjoyed being a member of Toastmasters, reading the Bible, traveling and playing the violin.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Mattson Reintzel; two daughters, Janet Cooper of Washington, N.C. and Alice Phillips of Sewanee, TN; grandchildren, Kirsten Cooper Jones of Washington, N.C., Derek Cooper and Kendra Cooper Ratliff, both of Gaithersburg, MD, Jessica Phillips Rohlfing of Athens, GA, Brooke Phillips of Los Angeles, CA and Benjamin Phillips of Douglas, MA and great-grandchildren, Rebecca Jones and Alice Jones, both of Washington, N.C. and Jonah Rohlfing and Malcolm Rohlfing, both of Athens, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, 5555 N. Federal Hwy, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33308, or the charity of one’s choice.
