Over 130 parishioners at the 1st Church of Christ, ranging in age from 3 to 80, spent Christmas eve serving dinner to the needy prior to the 6:30 p.m. candlelight service. “We raised over $4,000 and had more volunteers than we needed,” said Steve Hill, lead preaaching minister. “We wanted to look outward instead of inward.” Visitors also received presents for the children, a gift basket and blankets. The volunteers anticipated serving between 250 and 300 people and plan to make it an annual event. (WDN Photo/Christ Prokos)
