Edna Holley Lodge

Rev. Edna Holley Lodge, a resident of 925 Magnolia School Road, Washington, died Friday, May 4, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday at Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Edna was born Nov. 12, 1927, to the late Josephine Holley. Edna was educated in the local schools of Washington, graduating from Washington Colored High School in 1945. She was married to Richard Lodge Sr. who survives. She was a member of Mt. Olive A.M.E. Zion Church. She served as a member of the senior choir, Stewardess Board, General Claim Clerk, Sunday school teacher and a member of the Usher Board.
She was employed for 25 years as a teacher assistant with the Beaufort County Schools and retired in 1990. She served as pastor of Fleming Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church for 11 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Iris L. Reddick and Glenda Lodge, both of Washington, and four sons, Richard Jr., Melvin, and Charles Lodge, all of Washington, and Douglas Lodge of Laurinburg; one brother, Ernest Holley of Staunton, Va.; 10 grandchildren, Stephen Griffin of New York, Tyrone, Markell and Patrick Lodge of Washington, Chasity Lodge and Erica Lodge of Laurinburg, Angel Gibbs of Belhaven, Keddrain Bowen of Johnson City, Tenn., Marc Lodge and Shamel Lodge of Conyers, Ga., and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother Josephine Holley; grandson Bryan Tyrell Reddick; granddaughter Natalie Yvette Lodge; and nephew Antoine Holley.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Leon Randolph Funeral Home.
Flowers are welcome, but in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Olive A.M.E. Zion Church Building Fund.
