Brendan Keith Clem, 34, of Hyde County and more recently a resident of New Bern, died January 19, 2011, at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.
Born in Muncie, Indiana, February 16, 1976, he was the son of Carl R. and Brenda Layne Clem who survive.
A funeral service will be held in the Sladesville Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery today at 2:00 p.m. Brother Danny Barrow will officiate.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his maternal grandmother, Zelma Layne Sisco of Muncie, IN and his paternal grandmother, Naomie Geary Clem of Mitchell, IN ; a brother, Michael S. Clem and wife, Rochelle of Florida; a sister, Carla Clem-Taylor and husband, Gary of Pinetown; nieces, Hunter Taylor and Kassie Taylor and a nephew, Christopher Taylor. He was also loved by his adoptive family, Linda Foster, Stacey Thomas Baker and Danny Thomas, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Ernest Ray Layne; paternal grandfather, Robert Paul Clem; nephews, Austin Taylor and Justin Taylor.
