Mr. Jessie Alligood, 68, a resident of 110 Village Apartments, Washington, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, conducted by Tony Krantz.
Mr. Alligood was born in Beaufort County on Aug. 14, 1942. He was the son of the late Lyman Alligood and Eva Dean Sullivan Alligood. Mr. Alligood was a retired equipment operator with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ.
Mr. Alligood is survived by his daughter, Tonya Avery of Ayden; his brother, Milton Alligood of Mooresville; four grandchildren, Randy Avery, Jr., Jessie Caleb Avery, Bruce Lee Avery, Michael Wayne Avery and a step-granddaughter who he thought of as a granddaughter, Carmella.
