Mr. Michael Ray “Mike” Pilkington, age 52, a resident of 135 Bay Lake Drive, Chocowinity, NC died Friday January 28, 2011 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital of Greenville, NC.
A graveside funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday January 31, 2011 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens officiated by Pastor Ray Webb. Pallbearers will be Wayne Gaskins, Carl Gaskins, Dan Nixon, Jami Banks, Terry Ringgold and Britt Mitchell.
Mr. Mike was born in Morgan County, Illinois on September 21, 1958 son of the late Donald and Judith Coonrod Pilkington. He was a 1976 graduate of North Green High School in Green County, Illinois. Until his decline in health he was a Supervisor at PCS Phosphate in Aurora and had worked with several construction companies at PCS. Mike married the former Lisa Carol Warner on February 3, 2007. He was a member of Christ Vision Church of Blounts Creek.
Surviving along with Mike’s wife Lisa of the home, are two sons: Jason Pilkington of Delhi, Illinois and Jacob Pilkington of Mineral Wells, Texas; a daughter: Micha Pilkington of Mineral Wells, Texas; two sisters: Tracy Piper and her husband Jim of Roodhouse, Illinois and Dora Effelberger of Waldfischbach, Germany; a brother: Danny Pilkington of Godfrey, Illinois; two grandchildren; two nephews and one niece.
The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday January 30, 2011 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home located at 135 Bay Lake Drive, Chocowinity, NC.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center, 600 Moye Blvd., Room 178-Administration, Greenville, NC 27834.
