Mrs. Dorothy Dixon Willard, 77, of New Bern, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011.
She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in New Bern and was formerly a member of First United Methodist Church in Washington. She was a former resident of Shady Banks Beach Road in Washington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Ike Willard.
She is survived by one son, Sam Willard and wife, Carol of Washington; one daughter, Marsha W. Gupton and husband, Scott of New Bern; two brothers, Tommy Buckman and Kent Buckman, both of Washington; one sister, Murrelle Bruder of Grand Blanc, Mich.; and two grandchildren, Grant and Abigail Gupton.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Gleason officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church Family Life Center, P.O. Box 1510, New Bern, NC 28563 or to a charity of one’s choice.
