Jerry D. Bowers, 74, a resident of Harbour Way, Washington, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at his residence. A private service will be held at a later date, officiated by Rev. Joseph “Sonny” Browne.
Mr. Bowers was born on July 14, 1936, in Empire, Ga., son of the late Joseph Bowers and Iris Weida Bowers. He attended school in Jacksonville, Fla. On May 10, 1985, he married the former Sandra Mae Griner, who survives. They relocated to Washington in 1993. He was a retired salesman with Nashua Corporation after 20 years of service and was also a past member of Sports Officiator.
Along with his wife, he is survived by one son, Patrick Bowers and one daughter, Dianna Muise, both of Gloucester, Mass.; one stepdaughter, Suzanne Ball of Laurel, Md.; one stepson, Timothy Harper of Dunfries, Va.; seven grandchildren; and three brothers. He was preceded in death by one son, Blandford Joseph Bowers, in 1992.
