Mr. Heber Earl Wallace, age 63, a resident of 474 Neck B Rd., Pantego, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at his home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and will be conducted by Rev. Kenneth Pritchard. Burial will follow in Jamesville Community Cemetery. Tony McGowan, David Burbage, Jr., Guy Shavender, Jr., Darrell Windley, Jr., and Wayne Keech will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Wallace was born in Beaufort County on March 14, 1947 to the late Charles and Mary Boyd Wallace. On March 22, 2006 he married Peggy Holliday Simpson. He was a 1965 graduate of Pantego High School. He received a degree as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic from Beaufort Technical Institute, where he was elected to the Who’s Who among Students in American Vocational and Technical Schools in recognition of outstanding merit and accomplishment. Mr. Wallace was a Tug Boat Chief Engineer and was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Peggy S. Wallace, two daughters; Heather Wallace Clayton of Greenville, Paula Wallace Cayton of Greenville; two brothers, Grover Wallace of San Angelo, TX, Charles Wallace of Pinetown; two sisters, Connie Wallace Cleary of Belhaven, Patricia Wallace of Pinetown and ten grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm Friday, February 11, 2011 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
