Mr. Seth Bridgeman Perry, 78, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at his home. The funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Maple Grove Christian Church with Jay Hardison, Richard Smithwick and the Rev. Adron Modlin officiating. Burial will follow at Hardison Mill Cemetery.
Mr. Perry was born in Martin County son of the late Simon and Ellen Ward Perry. He was a farmer and a member of the Maple Grove Christian Church. He was also an Army Veteran.
On Nov. 10, 1951, he married Rachel Roberson Perry who survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are a son W.T. Perry of Jamesville, daughters Tina Manning and Candace Perry both of Jamesville, brothers Ward Perry and Tupper Perry both of Williamston, sisters Sylvia P. Day of Washington, Eleanor P. Peel, and Pearl .P Corey both of Williamston, grandchildren Brigitte Perry, Seth Manning, Robby Manning, Rachel Ann Perry, and Samantha Williams, great grandchildren Makayla Shaw and Ray Shaw.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Patricia Lynn Perry, and brothers Simon A. Perry Jr., Bobby Perry, and sister Marie Coltrain.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the church and other times at the residence 8817 NC Hwy 171.
