Lewis Henry Jordan Jr., 61, a resident of 1029 Pine Drive, Winterville, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Jordan family cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Curtis White. The cemetery is located up Jordan Lane which is off of Biggs Road in Pinetown.
Mr. Jordan was born in Beaufort County on Dec. 16, 1950, to the late Lewis Henry Jordan Sr. and Edna Elizabeth Winstead. He was a graduate of Bath High School and had worked in central maintenance at PCS Phosphate for 23 years. Mr. Jordan enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting and fishing. He also was an avid chess player.
Mr. Jordan is survived by a son, Travis B. Jordan and wife Julia of Vanceboro; six sisters, Lola Mae Nobles of Greenville, Sylvia Ann Sterling of New Bern, Linda J. Jordan of Greenville, Kay J. Brinn and husband Gary of Washington, Nelda J. Moore of Washington and Shelia J. Dixon of Greenville, and three grandchildren, Lindsey Arthur, Jarred Arthur and Lainee Jordan, all of Vanceboro.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jordan is preceded in death by a sister, Margie Faye Jordan.
