Faith Miller Thompson

Mrs. Faith Miller Thompson, age 83, a former resident of 6555 US Hwy. 17 N., Washington and a former resident of Toler’s Ave., Blounts Creek died Friday, March 23, 2007 at Britthaven Nursing Home of Washington.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Old Ford Church of Christ officiated by Gene Thompson, Tim Thompson and Eddie Bowen. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Jay R. Wilkins, Frank Parker, Kyle Thompson, Logan Thompson, Eric Thompson and Rudy Stout will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Stokes Co, on March 11, 1924 daughter of the late Granville Edward Miller and the late Ninada Elizabeth Tuttle Miller. She graduated from Hanes High School in Winston Salem and continued her education at Lincoln Bible Institute. She married Alvin Jay Thompson on August 2, 1941 and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2007. Faith’s talents were shared in many ways including music and children’s ministries, and being artistic in various forms of art which she used in her loving support for Alvin as he ministered to Church of Christ congregations in a number of states. Locally her work and support with Alvin included Old Ford Church of Christ where she was a member, Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ and Mary’s Chapel Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter: Olivia Thompson Wilkins of Washington; two sons: Alvin Eugene Thompson of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Timothy Jay Thompson of Raleigh; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Amos Miller, John D. Miller and Edward E. Miller and five sisters: Roberta M. Franklin, Rebecca M. Ingram, Rosa Coleta Miller, Louella M. Casey and Fern M. Adams.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to8:30 p.m. Monday March 26, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home of Mrs. Faith’s daughter Olivia T. Wilkins located at 6555 US Hwy. 17 N., Washington.
