Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

To the person who wants to know why they don’t bring the battleship in Wilmington to Washington: You sure don’t know anything about water. There are a lot of reasons why this is not possible. One: she couldn’t get under the bridges. Two: she is landlocked. Three: she draws about 32 foot of water.

I like Sound Off in the paper. I really enjoy hearing the people of Washington crying all the time.

Locating the battleship to Washington? Please! Wilmington is one of the few deep water ports in the state that can handle the tremendous draft that the battleship requires.

Please print an article on bicycle safety. Some people ride with traffic, some against the traffic and some in the middle of the street and some even talk on their cell phones. Most all ride without a helmet. One mishap can really ruin a life.

Hats off to the Washington Police Department for coming to my street Monday in response to suspicious activity. Good job!
