Mr. William “Skeet” Lawrence King, 80, of 5836 River Creek Drive, Washington, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at White Oak Missionary Baptist Church in Grimesland with Elder Rufus Sutton officiating. Burial will follow at the Crandell family cemetery, Shepherd Mills Road in Stokes.
Mr. King was born April 18, 1926 in Pitt County. He was the son of the late Rosa Anderson King and Jake King. He attended the public schools in Pitt County. He was employed as a cement finisher with Eastern Construction Co. He was a member of Jesus Is Alive Father Son and Holy Ghost Deliverance Church in Greenville.
On May 23, 1949 he was married to Ruby Lee Crandle King who survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Lena Perkins, Yvonne Benston and Tonya Bonds, all of Washington; five sons, William King of Washington, Steven Jake King of Grimesland, Jesse Ray King of New Jersey, Bobby Lee King of Blounts Creek and Blaze King of Grimesland; one brother, Jake King of Florida; three sisters, Rosa Payton and Molly Ruth Barnes of Goldsboro and Lillie Mae James of New York; 20 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Alice Lee White; two brothers, Jesse King and Charles King and one sister, Lucy Mae Davis.
The family will receive friends at the home. Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
