To the Editor:

I would like to add my voice to the recent letter from Amy Jackson concerning the excellent care her husband received at Beaufort County Medical Center.

My husband had an emergency in the middle of the night and I took him to the emergency room where he received immediate service. It was determined he needed surgery, which he received that morning. From the emergency room through the surgery and through the 2 1/2 weeks in the hospital, he received nothing but kind, caring and efficient care.

My husband and I are very grateful to each of the wonderful caregivers at the hospital and want the members of the public to know that in spite of the recent difficulties they have had to bear, the hospital personnel have continued to do a wonderful job of taking care of their patients.

I do hope the matter is finally settled and the merger with UHS will take place as it should and the quality of care we received will continue.
