Sea Scouts!

Boy Scout Troop 99 recently relived history by participating in a camping program aboard the World War II aircraft carrier Yorktown at Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum in Charleston Harbor. The Scouts became “shipmates” with other youth as they toured the Yorktown, the World War II submarine Clamagore, a Vietnam-era U.S. naval support base, and a Cold War memorial. Troop 99, chartered by the First United Methodist Church in Washington and under the direction of Scoutmaster Dal Newbold, also toured Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor, where the first shots of the Civil War were fired.
