The format of the hot dog-eating contest that is part of the July 4 festivities in Washington has been changed.
There is no entry fee for the contest. The participant who eats five, fully loaded, North Carolina-style hot dogs wins the contest, $50 and bragging rights, according to the Washington Harbor District Alliance.
